Now Showing – Yellow Submarine Poster

'Now Showing' was a project involving numerous international graphic designers and illustrators. The initiative was to "explore the lost art of the film poster". Each creative was given the task to renew and interpret the film poster of a classic, obscure or cult movie. The chosen movie was the iconic Beatles movie, 'Yellow Submarine'(1968), a colourful and psychedelic movie. After reading a book about the making of the movie and watching it some times, it gave lesser impact as an iconic piece. Although the LSD style aesthetics is nice, it was not easy to create a joyful interpretation to a movie that is partly a tribute to drugs.
With the diverse range of participants, the exhibition ended up eclectic, strange and beautiful. The dark Yellow Submarine didn't bring down the festive exhibition.
